Wallpaper: The Resurgence

What’s up with wallpaper?

It feels like in the past 5-10 years I have been seeing wallpaper everywhere.

I don’t know about you guys but…I’m am here for it and absolutely LOVE it!

But are we we making a mistake by covering our homes with wallpaper? Didn’t our parents and grandparents do this and then we all became sick and tired of wallpaper?

All I can say is as much as a love me some wallpaper there is a such thing as too much of a good thing.

While I love the bursts of color, pattern, and texture that wallpaper can add to a space, I think it is extremely important to use wallpaper in a way that makes it feel special.

Below are some of my favorite uses of wallpaper and some interesting places to add this detail.

Let’s go!

  1. Animal Print!

As a Leo and lover of bold prints, I adore the use of a leopard print wallpaper in this application! As many say, leopard print can feel like a neutral and I totally agree. While yes, it is very bold, this pattern doesn’t feel busy. I think the art pieces are great and tell a story.

2. Look Up!

Who doesn’t love a surprise?!

There are actually many people who don’t so let’s not start there.

Anyway, I think it is so fun to create unexpected moments in design that can be a surprise. One of my favorite ways to do this is to either paint, tile or install wallpaper on the ceiling.

I know what you’re thinking, the ceiling? Really? Yes, really

3. Laundry Room Makeover

One of the hottest trends in design right now is creating an AMAZING laundry room in your home.

My mom couldn’t believe the creative ways that people are styling a room that is typically the most forgotten space in your home.

Check out this sweetest laundry room done by Amber with Blessed Little Bungalow, this room is filled with color and pattern. Who wouldn’t want to wash clothes in here?
